This fund was established in 2026 to honour the memory of Rickey Burns, to provide ongoing support for the PEI Special Olympics 5‑Pin Bowling Championships while encouraging long‑term growth through community contributions.

Gifts to the fund are invested through the Community Foundation of PEI, creating sustainable annual income that ensures athletes can continue to participate in a meaningful, inclusive, and well‑supported provincial competition. The fund may also be used as needed to directly support this event, helping maintain its long‑standing impact in honour of Rickey Burns.
