When can I start applying for Community Grants?
Applicants can begin their applications and submit after the opening date of each fund. The opening date for each fund is located in the portal.
Where do I apply?
Applications are accepted online only and must be submitted through the Community Grant Application Portal. A direct link to the portal can be found by visiting www.cfpei.ca/apply/community/.
Where do I find specific information about each available community grant?
A complete list of available community grants, as well as the eligibility criteria for each can be found in the application portal.
Do I need to create an account in the portal to see the list of community grants and their criteria?
No, you can preview the list of available grants and their criteria before creating an account by clicking on the preview link. The preview link is found at www.cfpei.ca/apply/community/.
When is the deadline to submit my application?
There are various fund deadlines, be sure to visit the portal to see the deadline associated with the fund you’re interested in.
Who can apply?
Both Non-Qualified Donees, and CRA Registered Charities are welcome to apply for available funds. Non-Qualified Donees, could be subject to additional requirements should they be selected to receive funds.
What if I don’t have my references or required documents by the deadline?
All supporting documents must be submitted on/before the deadline for applications to be marked complete. Incomplete applications will be removed from consideration.
Can I apply for more than one Community Grant?
Applicants are encouraged to apply for any and all Community Grants provided they meet the outlined criteria.
Is there a guaranteed award amount for each project?
No, there is no guaranteed award amount. Awards are determined during the evaluation process and are based on the volume of applications received, as well as the strength of each, up to the maximum granting amount available for each fund that year.
If I am selected as a recipient, how will I be notified?
All applicants, whether successful or unsuccessful, will be notified of the decision regarding their application via a portal system generated email. Should you not receive an email, be sure to check your junk/spam folder.
Does it matter which email account I use to apply?
Applicants can use any email address they choose to apply for Community Grants but are encouraged to use an account they check regularly to ensure they don’t miss communication. Missing emails could result in Community Grant funds being redistributed to other recipients.
How long will it take for me to be notified after the decisions are made?
The length of time between the deadline, decisions and the applicants being notified will vary, and will depend on the number of applications being reviewed. We will do our very best to communicate the expected wait time – please be patient.
If I am selected as a recipient, how will I receive the funds?
Community Grant funds will be issued to organizations by cheque and sent to the organization by mail.
When I’m notified, will you need anything else from me as a recipient before the funds are sent?
You will be prompted to complete a “follow up” in the application portal containing a grant agreement. In the event that you are not awarded the full funding requested, you will be asked to provide a brief explanation on how your project will adapt to the reduced funding.
