The PEI Regiment Association Scholarship Fund

The Prince Edward Island Regiment Association (PEIRA) was founded in 2000 to support The Prince Edward Island Regiment (RCAC) (The PEIR) it’s soldiers and legacy. The PEIR is a Primary Reserve armoured reconnaissance regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces with its regimental headquarters in Charlottetown, PEI.
Shortly after Prince Edward Island joined Confederation in 1873, the Canada Militia Act of 1875 reorganized all Militia units. The PEIR officially traces its military roots to that year. Soldiers from PEI have fought in the Boer, First and Second World Wars, Korea and Afghanistan They have also participated in many different UN Peacekeeping missions as well as domestic and NATO operations. Over time the predecessor units of The PEIR have been infantry, calvary and artillery.
The intent of this fund is to award an annual scholarship(s) on behalf of The PEIRA to directly assist current and former members of The Regiment (or their families) in their educational pursuits. It can also assist those with other ties to The Regiment or who show a strong interest in its legacy.
While anyone may apply, preference can be given to applicants who 1) may be a life member or directly connected to a life member of The PEIRA; 2) to an individual that is a member of The PEIRA or; 3) to a current or former member/family member of the PEI Regiment Association.
