Creating Opportunities for Students Gold Rush Draw

Creating Opportunities for Students on PEI (COSPEI) Gold Rush is an ongoing year round weekly raffle (must be 19+ to play/win) to raise funds for participating Home and Schools across the Island. Home & Schools use the funds to support programs such as: 

• Nutrition and Food Security Initiatives – such as breakfast, snack, and lunch programs, emergency food support for families in need, nutrition education initiatives and other similar projects and activities.
• Enrichment and Field Trips – such as transportation and entry fees for class trips, in-school educational presenters or workshops, cultural or science-based experiences and other similar projects and activities.
• Outdoor and Playground Enhancements – such as playground structures or repairs, outdoor learning spaces or gardens, sports and recreation equipment and other similar projects and activities.
• Extracurricular and Co-Curricular Programs – such as equipment or supplies for clubs, sports, and arts programs, instructor fees for after-school programs, uniforms or team apparel for school representation and other similar projects and activities.
• Other examples of fund use include: technology for student use (e.g., tablets, software, robotics kits), library resources (e.g., books, seating, literacy programs), mental health and wellness resources (e.g., mindfulness tools, peer support programs), equity and inclusion initiatives (e.g., accessible learning tools, anti-racism programs), family engagement events (e.g., literacy nights, cultural celebrations), graduation expenses, prizes for graduation, equipment in support of students not normally covered by regular Department of Education budgets, staff appreciation week, special school events, enhancements to various school departments such as wellness room, school “welcoming” décor, financial support for special interest student groups in the school.
