Living Trust - 2008
As a tribute to past and present employees of Island Sandblasting, an Oak Tree was planted by Neil Shaw on a site adjacent to the Island Sandblasting plant in Milton. In addition, a number of trees were planted through contributions to the Trust by Lois MacMillan, Jim & Joanne McQuaid, Don Glendenning, Donna & Mike Daley, Bernice |
McGee, Sylvia & George Sauve, Marla MacDonald Gidney and Waterline
Limited.
Contributions are made to The Living Trust to mark a milestone in the life of a person or organization including births, deaths, retirements, Mother.s Day or Father.s Day, part of a family reunion, or simply as a thank you to a very special person. The inaugural planting took place in 2007 with a cluster of three Island Oak Trees planted on each side of the entrance to the Confederation Trail at Wood Islands. The Living Trust was initiated by the Keuper family to remember the life of Dr. Charles Keuper, a physician who came to PEI in 1979 after his retirement and worked tirelessly to protect and enhance the Island's natural beauty. Plantings to date have taken place on the Confederation Trail and in cooperation with the Department of Forestry and the Department of Transportation and Public Works, however, arrangements may also be made for plantings of interest to individual donors and in other public spaces. Contributions to the endowment or for annual planting may be made in any amount by cheque or cash; contributions may also be made using Canada Helps on the Foundation's website. Donors will be given a receipt to be used when filing Income Tax returns in both Canada and the USA |
