Applying for Grants and Scholarships

The Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island (CFPEI) is directing its grant giving activity towards organizations providing services and support to Island Youth. Proposals are invited from community based, non-profit organizations that address the challenges facing Island Youth as identified in the CFPEI's Vital Signs report "Taking the Pulse of Island Youth". Architects Association of Prince Edward Island -Open to a Prince Edward Island student who graduated from a PEI High School and is accepted into a recognized architectural program

Arthur & Theresa MacDonald Scholarship -Arthur and Theresa (Gillis) MacDonald were born, raised and educated in rural Prince Edward Island. Arthur was raised in East Point and Theresa in Low Point (Port Hill), PEI. Later in life, they left the Island to pursue work and career opportunities in central Canada and United States. They never forgot their roots and had great compassion for children and youth. Theresa established in her will, following Arthur's death, a trust fund to benefit others and particularly those continuing their education that could benefit from financial assistance.

Gordon Doughart Memorial Award Fund - The Gordon Doughart Memorial Award Fund was established by his parents, Kathryn and George Doughart, to empower the celebration of the legacy of their son, Gordon Doughart, of Sydney, NS who passed away on Dec. 31, 2014 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Gordon was a talented Red Seal chef with a great sense of humour. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved family and friends. In addition to his dedication to his family and his solid work ethic, Gordon will be remembered for the tireless work he did to raise awareness of issues related to funding of medication for cancer patients in Nova Scotia.

The Christian Gavard Memorial Scholarship for Inspiration in the Performing Arts -Will provide a scholarship each year to a deserving graduate from Bluefield High School who is pursuing further study in the performing/media arts, and who has demonstrated some of the same qualities as Christian by providing inspiration, encouragement and support for their peers.

The Jack Blanchard Music Program for Kids -Open to students in Elementary School. These are bursaries for music lessons and the application forms are to be submitted by school administrators.
