Prince Edward Island Credit Unions
First major donor to Community Foundation of PEI new campaign
The Community Foundation of Prince Edward Island,is pleased to announce
that PEI Credit Unions are the first major donor to participate in the
foundation's Securing a Future Campaign, with a contribution of $25,000.
Presenting a cheque to Tom Davies, Vice-President of the Foundation, is
Sarah Millar, chair of the PEI Credit Union Managers Association. Also
representing credit unions is Bernard Gillis and Alfred Arsenault (right).
The goal of the campaign is to help the Foundation achieve
self-sufficiency, in order to continue delivering its programs and
services into the future.
The Community Foundation of PEI is a non-profit organization providing a
vehicle for individuals, groups and communities to invest in the future of
their communities. By managing contributions and endowments from various
sources, the foundation in turn annually provides grants and special
awards, in support of social, educational, health and other initiatives
across the Island. The CFPEI hopes to increase its endowment portfolio to
$5,000,000 over the next 5 years, leading to a potential of $250,000 in
annual community assistance granting.
The Community Foundation of PEI prides itself in connecting caring people
with worthy causes, and Vice-President Tom Davies says the credit union
connection is a great fit. "This is a perfect example of the corporate
community getting in touch with the community foundation and its
projects."
Donations to the campaign may be made at the CFPEI office. More details
